Zea is the genus of a large family of grasses, one of the most important to humanity of which is zea mays. It’s corn! I purchased a skein of A Verb for Keeping Warm’s gorgeous 2024 anniversary color for its resemblance to gorgeous ears of heirloom corn, and designed a cowl to showcase it. Cowl is started from a provisional cast on and worked in the round. Once complete, the stitches from the
provisional cast on are unzipped and grafted together with the live stitches.
